Message of Greeting from German Ambassador Peter Ammon
I am delighted to see the great strides the German-American Cultural Foundation has made and the impact it is starting to have on the Southeastern community since its establishment.
The foundation’s objective is important. It aims to strengthen relations between the German-speaking countries and the United States and raises cultural awareness and exchange among our societies. By doing so the Foundation does not only provide a service for its German citizens here in Atlanta, but it emphasizes the importance of educating Americans about the German culture as well. The broad consensus on many key issues and a mutually fruitful cooperation between Germany and the U.S. in the fields of economy and trade prompted the founding members to complement these strong ties strong ties by highlighting the cultural dimensions in our transatlantic relationship. Sensitivity to foreign cultures and customs is key to mutual understanding on both a personal and business level. Economic leaders who are skilled in responding to different corporate cultures and lifestyles will have the greatest success in our ever more closely integrated world.
